Tortilla Wraps with Ground Beef

INGREDIENTS:

Serves 4–6

For the Ground Beef Filling:

1 lb ground beef (or turkey/chicken for a lighter option)

1 small onion , finely chopped

2 cloves garlic , minced

1 packet taco seasoning (store-bought or homemade—see below for DIY option)

1/2 cup water (to mix with taco seasoning)

Salt and pepper , to taste

For the Wraps:

8–10 large flour or corn tortillas

Optional Toppings :

Shredded lettuce

Diced tomatoes

Shredded cheddar or Monterey Jack cheese

Sliced avocado or guacamole

Sour cream or Greek yogurt

Salsa or hot sauce

Fresh cilantro, chopped

Optional Homemade Taco Seasoning:

1 tbsp chili powder

1 tsp cumin

1 tsp paprika

1/2 tsp garlic powder

1/2 tsp onion powder

1/4 tsp cayenne pepper (optional, for heat)

1/2 tsp salt

1/4 tsp black pepper

DIRECTIONS:

Step 1: Cook the Ground Beef

Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add the ground beef, breaking it apart with a wooden spoon, and cook until browned and no longer pink (about 6–8 minutes ).

Stir in the chopped onion and garlic, cooking for an additional 2–3 minutes , until softened.

Sprinkle the taco seasoning (homemade or store-bought) over the beef mixture, then add the water. Stir well to combine and let simmer for 3–5 minutes , allowing the flavors to meld.

Step 2: Warm the Tortillas

Warm the tortillas in a dry skillet over medium heat for about 30 seconds per side , or wrap them in foil and heat in the oven at 350°F (175°C) for 5–10 minutes. You can also microwave them for 20–30 seconds , wrapped in a damp paper towel, to keep them soft …
