For the Meatballs:

4 slices hearty white sandwich breadtorn into pieces
1/2 cup whole milk
2 large egg yolks
1/2 pound ground pork
1/2 cup finely chopped fresh parsley
2 garlic clovesminced
1 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons pepper
2 1/2 pounds 85% lean ground beef

For the Sauce:

1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1 onionminced
1 28-ounce can tomato sauce
2 1/2 cups apricot preserves
1/4 cup packed dark brown sugar
3 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes

DIRECTIONS:

Adjust oven racks to upper-middle and lower-middle positions and heat oven to 450 degrees F.
In large bowl mash bread, milk, and egg yolks with a fork until smooth. Add pork, parsley, garlic, salt, and pepper and mix until combined. Add beef and mix until combined.
