SOFT SOUR CREAM SUGAR COOKIES

INGREDIENTS

1 cup (2 sticks or 230g) unsalted butter, softened

1 1/2 cups (300g) granulated sugar

2 large eggs

1 cup (240g) sour cream

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

4 cups (480g) all-purpose flour

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon salt

DIRECTIONS:

In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.

Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.

Stir in the sour cream and vanilla extract until the mixture is well combined.

In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt.

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until a soft dough forms. Be careful not to overmix.

Divide the dough into two equal portions and shape each into a disk.

Wrap the dough disks in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour or until firm.

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
