This Slow Cooker Amish Green Bean Casserole blends the earthy flavors of fresh green beans, creamy mushroom soup, savory bacon, and melty cheddar cheese — all finished with a crispy topping of French fried onions. A perfect hands-off holiday or potluck side dish.

INGREDIENTS:

1 pound fresh green beans trimmed and halved

10.5 oz cream of mushroom soup 1 can

1/2 cup milk

1/4 cup sour cream

1 small onion finely chopped

4 slices bacon cooked and crumbled

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1/2 tsp garlic powder

salt and pepper to taste

1 cup French fried onions

DIRECTIONS:

Place the green beans in the bottom of your slow cooker.
In a mixing bowl, combine the cream of mushroom soup, milk, sour cream, and chopped onion. Stir until well blended.
Pour the soup mixture over the green beans in the slow cooker.
Add the crumbled bacon and shredded cheddar cheese on top.
Sprinkle garlic powder, salt, and pepper over the mixture.
Cover and cook on LOW for 4–5 hours or until the green beans are tender.
About 30 minutes before serving, sprinkle the French fried onions on top and cover again to allow them to warm up and become crispy.
Serve hot and enjoy!
