Saltine Caramel Chocolate Dessert

Saltine Caramel Chocolate Dessert
A rich, indulgent layered dessert made with crisp saltine crackers, buttery homemade caramel, and melted chocolate. This slow cooker treat transforms simple pantry ingredients into a sweet, toffee-like dessert with irresistible texture.

INGREDIENTS:

1 sleeve saltine crackers about 35–40 crackers

1 cup unsalted butter 2 sticks

1 cup light brown sugar packed

1 1/2 cups semisweet chocolate chips

DIRECTIONS:

Lightly spray the inside of the slow cooker with non-stick spray.
Arrange saltine crackers in a single layer across the bottom, breaking pieces as needed to cover the surface.
In a saucepan over medium heat, melt butter and stir in brown sugar. Bring to a steady boil and cook 3–4 minutes, stirring constantly, until thickened and glossy.
Pour caramel evenly over crackers, spreading gently to cover.
Cover and cook on LOW for 1.5 to 2 hours, until bubbling at the edges and crackers are softened.
Turn off heat, sprinkle chocolate chips evenly over top, cover, and let sit 10–15 minutes until melted.
Spread melted chocolate into an even layer. Let cool at least 30 minutes before serving warm, or refrigerate until firm for slicing.
