One-Pan Bold Honey BBQ Chicken Rice

INGREDIENTS:

For the Dish:

1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs (cut into bite-sized pieces)

1 cup long-grain white rice (or brown rice for a healthier option)

2 cups chicken broth

1/4 cup honey

1/4 cup BBQ sauce (your favorite brand or homemade)

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 tablespoon smoked paprika

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1/2 teaspoon chili powder (optional, for a spicy kick)

Salt and pepper (to taste)

Optional Add-Ins:

1 cup frozen peas and carrots

1 red bell pepper (diced)

Green onions (for garnish)

DIRECTIONS:

Step 1: Preheat Your Pan

Heat a large oven-safe skillet or pan over medium-high heat. Add the olive oil to coat the bottom of the pan.

Step 2: Sear the Chicken

Season the chicken pieces with smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, chili powder (if using), salt, and pepper.

Add the chicken to the hot pan and sear for 3–4 minutes , or until golden brown on all sides. Remove the chicken from the pan and set aside.

Step 3: Cook the Rice

In the same pan, add the rice and stir for 1–2 minutes to lightly toast it, which enhances its nutty flavor.

Pour in the chicken broth, scraping the bottom of the pan to release any flavorful bits left behind by the chicken.

Step 4: Add the Sauce and Chicken

Stir in the honey and BBQ sauce, mixing well to combine.
