Homemade Banana Ice Cream
INGREDIENTS:
egg: 2/3 cup sugar
egg: 2 eggs
spoon: 1 tbsp plus 1 tsp cornstarch
salt: 1/8 tsp salt
milk: 1 cup milk
banana: 2 large ripe bananas
ice cream: 1 1/4 cup cream
ear_of_rice: 1 tsp vanilla
peanuts: optional add-ins: 1/2 cup toasted walnut pieces
cookie: optional add-ins: crumbled graham crackers
DIRECTIONS:
In a mixing bowl, beat sugar into eggs until light and fluffy. :rice:
Beat in cornstarch. :bowl_with_spoon:
Gradually beat in salt and milk. :milk:
Pour mixture into a saucepan and cook over low heat, stirring constantly until it thickens slightly (do not boil). :fire:
Remove from heat and let cool to room temperature. :thermometer:
Once cool, stir in mashed bananas, cream, and vanilla. :banana:
Pour into ice cream maker and churn according to manufacturer’s instructions. :icecream:
When the ice cream is almost done, add optional walnut pieces and crumbled graham crackers if using. :ice_cream:
Transfer to a freezer container and freeze until firm.
