Homemade Amish Sweet Bread

INGREDIENTS:

2 C. Water
 C. Granulated sugar
1 ½ Tbsp. Active Dry yeast
1 ½ tsp. Salt
¼ C. Vegetable oil
5 ½ – 6 C. All purpose flour
Place the water in a saucepan over medium heat on the stove. Heat until boiling, and the temperature reaches 110 degrees.
Stir in the sugar until melted.
Remove from the heat and add the yeast. Let sit for 10 minutes to bloom.
Stir in the salt and oil.
One cup at a time, add the flour to the wet ingredients, beating well between each cup. You want to continue adding the flour a little at a time until the dough clumps into a ball and pulls away from the beaters on its own, but is still quite sticky …
