Heaven on Earth Cake
INGREDIENTS:
For the Layers:
1 (10-inch) prepared angel food cake, torn into chunks
2 (3.4 oz) packages vanilla instant pudding
3 cups cold milk
1 (8 oz) tub whipped topping (like Cool Whip), thawed
2 cups fresh strawberries, sliced
For the Topping:
1 cup heavy cream, whipped
¼ cup powdered sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
Extra strawberries for garnish
DIRECTIONS:
1. Prep the Pudding Layer
Whisk pudding mix and milk for 2 minutes until thick. Fold in ½ of the whipped topping.
2. Assemble the Cake
In a large trifle dish or 9×13-inch pan, layer:
½ of the angel food cake chunks
½ of the pudding mixture
½ of the sliced strawberries
Repeat layers.
3. Add the Whipped Cream Topping
Whip heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla until stiff peaks form.
Spread over the top layer. Garnish with extra strawberries.
4. Chill & Serve!
Refrigerate at least 4 hours (or overnight) before serving.
