Ground Beef and Gravy

There’s something deeply satisfying about a plate loaded with tender Ground Beef and Gravy—a true weeknight champion that comforts like no other. With simple ingredients and minimal effort, this dish delivers rich, savory flavor in just 35 minutes.
INGREDIENTS:
1 lb ground beef 85/15 or 90/10 lean
1 small yellow onion finely chopped
2 cloves garlic minced
3 Tbsp all-purpose flour
2 cups beef broth low-sodium
1 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
2 Tbsp butter
Salt & black pepper to taste
Optional: chopped fresh parsley for garnish
DIRECTIONS:
Brown the Beef
In a large skillet warmed to medium heat, cook the ground beef until no longer pink, breaking it apart with a spatula. Drain excess fat.
Sauté the Onion & Garlic
Add chopped onion and sauté for 3–4 minutes until translucent. Stir in minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
Add the Flour
Sprinkle the flour over the beef mixture. Stir and cook for 1–2 minutes to eliminate the raw flour taste.
Build the Gravy
Slowly pour in beef broth while stirring to avoid lumps. Add Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper.
Simmer to Thicken
Bring to a gentle simmer. Cook for 5–7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the gravy thickens.
Finish with Butter
Stir in butter until melted and smooth for a glossy, rich gravy.
