Classic Fluffy Pancake

Classic Fluffy Pancake

“Soft, fluffy, and golden pancakes that are perfect for any breakfast or brunch.”

This pancake recipe is simple, quick, and produces the best pancakes every time. Pair them with your favorite syrup, butter, or fresh fruit for a delightful meal.

INGREDIENTS:

Dry Ingredients:

1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

2 tablespoons granulated sugar

1 tablespoon baking powder

1/4 teaspoon salt

Wet Ingredients:

1 1/4 cups milk (whole milk or your preferred type)

1 large egg

3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted (plus extra for greasing the pan)

1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)

DIRECTIONS:

Step 1: Prepare the Batter

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the dry ingredients: flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.

In a separate bowl, combine the wet ingredients: milk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract (if using). Whisk until smooth.

Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients. Stir gently with a whisk or spatula until just combined.

Tip: It’s okay if the batter is a little lumpy – overmixing can make pancakes tough.

Step 2: Heat the Pan

Heat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat. Lightly grease with butter or cooking spray.

To test if the pan is ready, sprinkle a few drops of water on the surface – if they sizzle and evaporate, you’re good to go.

Step 3: Cook the Pancakes

Use a 1/4-cup measuring cup to pour batter onto the skillet.

Cook until bubbles form on the surface and the edges look set, about 2–3 minutes.

Flip the pancake and cook for another 1–2 minutes, or until golden brown.

Repeat with the remaining batter, greasing the pan as needed.

Step 4: Serve and Enjoy

Stack the pancakes on a plate and serve warm.

Top with butter, syrup, fresh fruit, whipped cream, or any of your favorite toppings.
