INGREDIENTS:

For the Bread:

1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

3/4 cup granulated sugar

1 teaspoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/2 cup buttermilk (cold)

1/4 cup unsalted butter (melted and cooled)

1 large egg

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

For the Cinnamon-Sugar Coating:

1/4 cup unsalted butter (melted, for brushing)

1/2 cup granulated sugar

1 tablespoon ground cinnamon

Optional Glaze:

1 cup powdered sugar

2–3 tablespoons milk (or cream)

1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

DIRECTIONS:

Step 1: Preheat Your Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) . Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan and line it with parchment paper for easy removal.

Step 2: Mix the Dry Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.

Step 3: Combine the Wet Ingredients

In a separate bowl, whisk together the buttermilk, melted butter, egg, and vanilla extract until smooth.

Step 4: Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients

Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, stirring gently until just combined. Be careful not to overmix—the batter should be slightly lumpy.

Step 5: Bake the Bread

Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top with a spatula.

Bake in the preheated oven for 45–50 minutes , or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Step 6: Prepare the Cinnamon-Sugar Coating

While the bread is baking, mix the sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl. Melt the 1/4 cup of butter in another bowl for brushing.

Step 7: Coat the Bread

Once the bread is baked, let it cool in the pan for 5–10 minutes. Remove it from the pan and brush the entire surface with melted butter.

Sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture generously over the buttered bread, patting gently to help it adhere.

Step 8: Optional Glaze

If desired, whisk together the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract to create a smooth glaze. Drizzle it over the cooled bread for an extra touch of sweetness.

Step 9: Serve and Enjoy

Slice the bread and enjoy the soft, cinnamon-sugar goodness! Pair with coffee, tea, or a glass of cold milk for a cozy treat.
