CHRISTMAS MELTAWAY COOKIES
INGREDIENTS:
For the Cookies:
1 cup unsalted butter softened
½ cup powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
½ cup cornstarch
¼ teaspoon salt
For Decoration (Optional):
Powdered sugar for dusting
Holiday sprinkles or coloured sugar
DIRECTIONS:
Cream Butter and Sugar:
In a large bowl, beat the butter and powdered sugar until light and fluffy. Mix in the vanilla.
Add Dry Ingredients:
Gradually add flour, cornstarch, and salt. Mix until a soft dough forms.
Chill the Dough:
Cover and refrigerate dough for 30 minutes.
Shape and Bake:
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Roll dough into 1-inch balls and place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Flatten slightly with your fingers. Add sprinkles if using. Bake for 10–12 minutes.
Cool and Finish:
Let cool for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack. Dust with powdered sugar once completely cooled.
