Choux Pastry
INGREDIENTS:
5 eggs
80g butter
180ml water
50ml milk
170g flour
A pinch of salt
Cream Ingredients:
2 egg yolks
300ml milk
60g sugar
30g cornstarch
1 vanilla pod
DIRECTIONS:
For the Dough:
Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). Grease and flour a baking dish.
In a saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Once melted, set aside to cool slightly.
In a mixing bowl, beat the eggs with a pinch of salt until light and fluffy.
Gradually add the melted butter to the beaten eggs while continuing to mix.
Add the water and milk to the egg mixture and mix well.
Gradually add the flour to the wet ingredients, stirring continuously until a smooth batter forms.
Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and smooth the top with a spatula.
Bake in the preheated oven for about 30-35 minutes, or until the dough is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Once baked, remove the dough from the oven and let it cool completely.
For the Cream:
In a saucepan, heat the milk over medium heat until it comes to a simmer. Remove from heat.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the egg yolks, sugar, and cornstarch until smooth and well combined.
