Cheesesteak Stromboli
A delightful beef and cheese filled bread roll, perfect for a hearty meal or snack.
INGREDIENTS:
1/3 cup mayonnaise.
1 loaf bread dough.
1 tsp garlic powder.
6 slices Provolone Cheese.
1/2 cup mushrooms.
1/8 tsp garlic salt.
1/8 tsp sesame seeds.
1/8 tsp dried parsley.
1/2 cup green pepper.
1/2 cup onion.
2 Tbsp butter divided.
Beef roast deli slices.
DIRECTIONS:
Thaw the bread dough and allow it to rise as per the instructions on the package.
Finely chop the onions, peppers, and mushrooms; then sauté them in a skillet using 1 tablespoon of butter.
Set your oven to preheat at 375°F. Prepare a jellyroll pan by either lining it with parchment paper or spraying it with nonstick spray.
Stretch the bread dough to form a rectangle, approximately 12″ x 18″ in size.
Combine mayonnaise with garlic powder, then spread this mixture over the rolled-out dough, ensuring to leave a half-inch border around the edges.
Layer deli roast beef over the spread.
Top with the sautéed veggies – onions, peppers, and mushrooms.
Place a generous layer of cheese on top of the veggies.
Carefully roll the dough into a log, jelly-roll style. Tightly roll it up for the best result.
Transfer the rolled stromboli onto a baking sheet.
Mix the remaining butter until melted, and brush it over the roll’s surface. Optionally, sprinkle with parsley, garlic salt, and sesame seeds.
Bake in the oven for about 15-20 minutes until it becomes golden brown and fully heated.
