BLUEBERRY CREAM CHEESE PUFF PASTRY

INGREDIENTS:
For the Pastries
1 sheet of puff pastry, thawed
4 oz (115 g) cream cheese, softened
2 tbsp granulated sugar
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1 cup (150 g) fresh or frozen blueberries
1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
For the Glaze (Optional)
1/2 cup (60 g) powdered sugar
1-2 tbsp milk
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
DIRECTIONS:
Step 1: Prepare the Pastry Base
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Roll out the puff pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface and cut it into 6 equal rectangles.
Step 2: Make the Cream Cheese Filling
In a mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
Step 3: Assemble the Pastries
Place the puff pastry rectangles on the prepared baking sheet. Using a knife, lightly score a border about 1/2 inch from the edges of each rectangle.
Spread a tablespoon of the cream cheese mixture inside the scored border of each pastry.
