Big Mac Sloppy Joes
INGREDIENTS:
Serves 6–8
For the Sloppy Joe Mixture:
1 lb ground beef (or turkey/chicken for a lighter option)
1 small onion , finely chopped
2 cloves garlic , minced
1 cup ketchup
2 tbsp sweet pickle relish
1 tbsp yellow mustard
1 tsp white vinegar
1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp onion powder
Salt and pepper , to taste
For the Special Sauce:
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1 tbsp sweet pickle relish
1 tsp yellow mustard
1 tsp white vinegar
1/2 tsp garlic powder
Salt and pepper , to taste
For Assembly:
6–8 hamburger buns , toasted
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional, but recommended!)
Dill pickle slices , for topping
DIRECTIONS:
Step 1: Cook the Beef
Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add the ground beef, breaking it apart with a wooden spoon, and cook until browned and no longer pink (about 6–8 minutes ). Drain excess grease if needed.
Stir in the chopped onion and garlic, cooking for an additional 2–3 minutes , until softened.
Step 2: Make the Sloppy Joe Sauce
In a small bowl, whisk together the ketchup, sweet pickle relish, mustard, vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
Pour the sauce into the skillet with the beef mixture. Stir to combine and let simmer for 5–7 minutes , allowing the flavors to meld and the sauce to thicken slightly.
Step 3: Make the Special Sauce
