INGREDIENTS:

8 jalapeño peppers halved and seeded

4 oz cream cheese softened

1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1/4 cup cooked and crumbled sausage

1 can 8 oz refrigerated crescent rolls

1/2 tsp garlic powder

1/2 tsp onion powder

1 tbsp chopped fresh cilantro optional

DIRECTIONS:

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Prepare the Jalapeños: Halve the jalapeños lengthwise and remove seeds and membranes. Leave some seeds in for extra heat if desired.
Make the Filling: In a bowl, mix the softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, crumbled sausage, garlic powder, and onion powder until well combined.
Stuff the Jalapeños: Fill each jalapeño half generously with the cheese and sausage mixture.
Wrap the Jalapeños in Crescent Dough: Unroll the crescent roll dough and separate into triangles. Place a stuffed jalapeño half at the wide end of each triangle, then roll the dough around the jalapeño, pressing edges to seal.
Bake to Perfection: Arrange the wrapped jalapeños on the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until crescents are golden brown and the filling is melted and bubbly.
Garnish and Serve: Let the poppers cool for a few minutes, then garnish with chopped cilantro, if desired. Serve warm with dipping sauces like ranch or barbecue sauce.
