Apple Pie Biscuits
INGREDIENTS:
1 can of buttermilk biscuits (8-count, refrigerated)
1 can of apple pie filling
½ cup melted butter
½ cup brown sugar
1 tablespoon cinnamon
½ teaspoon vanilla extract (optional, for extra flavor)
For the Glaze (Optional but SO Good!):
½ cup powdered sugar
2 tablespoons milk
½ teaspoon cinnamon
DIRECTIONS:
1. Preheat & Prepare Ingredients:
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish or line with parchment paper.
2. Chop the Apple Pie Filling:
Pour the apple pie filling into a bowl and chop the apples into smaller pieces to make them easier to fit inside the biscuits.
3. Flatten & Fill the Biscuits:
Separate the biscuits and place them on a lightly floured surface.
Using your fingers or a rolling pin, flatten each biscuit slightly.
Spoon 1–2 tablespoons of apple pie filling onto the center of each biscuit.
Fold the edges of the biscuit over the filling, pinching to seal. (It doesn’t have to be perfect—rustic looks great! 😉)
4. Coat in Cinnamon-Sugar Butter:
In a bowl, whisk together melted butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla extract.
Dip each filled biscuit into the buttery cinnamon mixture, coating completely.
Place the coated biscuits seam-side down in the prepared baking dish.
5. Bake Until Golden:
Bake for 18–22 minutes, or until the biscuits are golden brown and bubbly.
6. Make the Glaze (Optional but Delicious!):
In a small bowl, whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and cinnamon until smooth.
Drizzle the glaze over the warm biscuits before serving.
Tips for Success:
Extra Buttery? Brush additional melted butter over the biscuits before baking.
Crunchy Topping? Sprinkle chopped pecans or walnuts on top before baking!
Want a Drizzle of Caramel? Add a caramel drizzle on top instead of (or with) the glaze!
