2 tbsp (30ml) olive oil (for frying)

For the Gravy:

2 tbsp (30g) butter

2 tbsp (15g) all-purpose flour

2 cups (480ml) beef broth

1/4 tsp Worcestershire sauce

1/4 tsp thyme

Salt and pepper to taste

DIRECTIONS:

Prepare the Hamburger Steaks:

In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, milk, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix gently until just combined.

Divide the mixture into 4-6 equal portions and shape them into oval patties.

Cook the Steaks:

Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Sear the hamburger steaks for 3-4 minutes on each side until browned but not fully cooked. Remove and set aside.

Make the Gravy:

In the same skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in the flour and cook for 1-2 minutes until lightly browned.

Assemble and Bake:
