Amish Chicken is a comforting, home-style dish featuring juicy, tender chicken baked in a rich, creamy gravy. It’s easy to prepare, making it ideal for family meals. Serve with mashed potatoes, rice, or your favorite sides for a satisfying dinner.

INGREDIENTS:

6-8 pieces chicken thighs, drumsticks, or breasts, cleaned

1 cup flour

2 tsp garlic powder

1 tbsp salt

1 tsp black pepper

2 tsp paprika

1 1/2 cups heavy whipping cream

1 1/2 cups water

DIRECTIONS:

Season and Coat the Chicken:

In a shallow bowl, combine flour, garlic powder, salt, black pepper, and paprika. Dredge each piece of chicken in the seasoned flour mixture, shaking off excess.

Prepare the Baking Dish:

Lightly grease a baking dish with butter or oil, then sprinkle a little seasoned flour over the surface. Arrange the chicken pieces in the dish, skin side up.

Mix the Cream and Water:

In a bowl, stir together the heavy whipping cream and water. Pour the mixture over the chicken, covering all pieces.

Bake the Chicken:

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the chicken for 1 1/2 hours, until golden brown and cooked through. The gravy should be thick and bubbling.

Serve:

Let the dish cool for a few minutes. Serve the chicken with gravy, alongside your choice of sides.
