Alabama Pecanbread
Alabama Pecanbread is a Southern dessert bar that’s moist, sweet, and packed with pecans. With a tender, cake-like texture and a rich nutty flavor, this treat is perfect for serving with coffee or tea. Simple to make and incredibly delicious, it’s a delightful addition to any dessert spread.
INGREDIENTS:
1 cup light brown sugar, packed
1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup vegetable oil
4 large eggs
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 1/2 cups chopped pecans
DIRECTIONS:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.
In a large mixing bowl, combine the brown sugar, granulated sugar, and vegetable oil. Mix well until smooth and combined.
Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition until fully incorporated.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined. Do not overmix.
Stir in the vanilla extract and chopped pecans until evenly distributed throughout the batter.
Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish, spreading it evenly.
Bake for 30–35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean and the edges are golden brown.
Let the pecanbread cool completely in the pan before cutting into squares. Serve and enjoy!
