Deep Hamburger Sausage & Pepperoni Pie

INGREDIENTS:

Crust

01 2 ready-bake pie crusts (from 1 box, approx. 450 g total)

Cheeses

02 200 g shredded mozzarella cheese
03 100 g shredded cheddar cheese or provolone cheese

Meats

04 225 g ground beef
05 225 g Italian sausage (optional, casings removed)
06 100 g pepperoni slices

Sauce

07 350 ml pizza sauce or marinara sauce

Seasonings

08 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
09 0.5 teaspoon garlic powder, plus extra for topping
10 0.5 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

Topping

11 45 ml melted butter (for brushing crust)

DIRECTIONS:

Step 01

Cook ground beef and Italian sausage in a skillet over medium heat until thoroughly browned. Drain any excess fat and set meats aside to cool slightly.

Step 02

Preheat oven to 220°C (425°F).

Step 03

Roll out one pie crust to fit a deep-dish pie pan or a deep skillet. Spread half the mozzarella evenly over the base.

Step 04

Evenly distribute cooked ground beef, Italian sausage, and half of the pepperoni over the cheese layer.

Step 05

Pour pizza sauce or marinara evenly across the meat and pepperoni layer. Sprinkle with Italian seasoning, garlic powder, and if desired, red pepper flakes.

Step 06
