Deep-Fried Strawberry Cheesecake Stuffed Wonton Bites
Makes 12–15 bites
INGREDIENTS:
For the Filling:
8 oz cream cheese , softened
¼ cup powdered sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
½ cup fresh strawberries , finely diced (or strawberry jam for a shortcut)
For Assembly:
1 package (24-count) wonton wrappers
1 egg , beaten (for sealing)
Vegetable oil , for frying
For Coating:
½ cup powdered sugar , for dusting
Optional : Strawberry glaze, melted chocolate, or cinnamon-sugar
DIRECTIONS:
Step 1: Make the Filling
In a bowl, mix cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth. Fold in diced strawberries.
Chill the filling for 15 minutes to firm up (this prevents leaks!).
Step 2: Assemble the Wontons
Place a wonton wrapper on a clean surface. Add 1 tsp of filling in the center.
Brush edges with beaten egg, then fold diagonally to form a triangle. Press edges firmly to seal.
