2 cups (400 g) granulated sugar

1 1/2 cups (190 g) all-purpose flour

1/4 tsp salt

1 cup (240 ml) buttermilk

For the Toppings

3 cups (150 g) mini marshmallows

For the Chocolate Frosting

1/2 cup (115 g) unsalted butter, softened

1/3 cup (30 g) unsweetened cocoa powder

4 cups (480 g) powdered sugar

1/2 cup (120 ml) milk

1 tsp vanilla extract

1/2 cup (60 g) chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)

DIRECTIONS:

Step 1: Prepare the Cake Batter

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13-inch baking pan.

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the melted butter and cocoa powder until smooth.

Add the granulated sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract, mixing until fully combined.

Gradually add the flour, salt, and buttermilk, stirring until just combined.
